School Philosophy and Mission
"At the Andrew Friedland Preschool at Temple Beth Rishon, we are committed to providing youngsters with a warm and nurturing environment. Temple Beth Rishon is a place where children feel comfortable to grow socially, creatively, academically and spiritually.
Judaism is integrated throughout the day through art, holiday celebrations, books, food and song. Children are exposed to Judaic content in secular areas as well. For example, learning to count may be taught by counting Chanukah candles or measuring ingredients for a recipe. Literature may be introduced through the re-telling of Jewish stories. Our goal is to have the children begin to “see the world through Jewish eyes.
It is our philosophy that children learn best through play and social interactions, incorporated into an age-appropriate curriculum. We strive to offer a variety of programs that meet the needs of our young families.
Currently we offer classes for Mom ‘N Tots, 2's, 3's, 4's and Kindergarten Enrichment. We also offer enrichment classes and “Kids Klubs for older children. We currently offer Super Scientist, Messy Art, Creative Cooks, Fun with Clay and Karate.
It is the mission of the Andrew Friedland Preschool to foster positive self-esteem, and the self-confidence to be a positive risk taker. We accomplish this by providing your child with a secure, loving environment. Our graduates are children that love their heritage and look forward to the challenges of future education."

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
