School Philosophy and Mission
" The importance of education goes far beyond the academic knowledge we gain in our journey through school. It more importantly ignites our curiosity and desire to learn. It gives us the desire and the tools to learn. Education allows us to imagine, to create, to wonder and explore and discover the worlds around us. We embark on this educational journey from the moment we are born.
Children learn best through active participation with their environment. They learn by utilizing all of their senses. Children learn best when all their basic needs have been met. Children who feel safe and loved with secure attachments are more ready to learn.
A good learning environment meets the child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs. It is designed with the child in mind, considering both form and function. It provides adequate, developmentally appropriate materials in a safe, clean and organized manner. The size of the furniture, classroom and play yard are appropriate for the size and age of the children being served.
The staff of caring professionals are educated and responsive to the needs of the children they serve. Teachers should be as excited about learning as they are about teaching. Teachers should look upon each moment of a child’s development and be in awe of the wonder in a child’s heart and mind. Every moment is to be valued, appreciated, respected and honored.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
