School Philosophy and Mission
"Our nursery school philosophy is based on the premise that if a child has the opportunity to develop confidence in himself, he will be able to think for himself, make his own decisions, and work out solutions to his own problems. We want the child to have a good self-image – a feeling that he is a worthwhile person and respects and trusts himself. We feel that each personality is of value. Each person, if given love, acceptance, support and encouragement will develop in his own unique way and be of value to himself and society. A parent-education-sponsored cooperative nursery school such as ours is the ideal environment in which these feelings of self-esteem and self-worth can flourish.
Parents are giving their time and energy because they believe in the importance and value of a cooperative, giving, sharing, and caring school for their children. Indeed, it is this commitment that makes the cooperative parent unique among parents of pre-schoolers. The co-op parents extend themselves to every child at our school. They're responsible for their obligations to the school – their workday, their committee work, their involvement in the activities of the school. The atmosphere they foster provides a happy setting for their own children and all the children. With the aid of the professional teacher, the co-op parent contributes to a loving, caring community of adults and children.

Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
