School Philosophy and Mission

"Laurel Hall Early Childhood Center provides a curriculum that compliments the predictable stages of early childhood development while acknowledging the rate and pattern of growth of each individual child. Children learn to express themselves verbally, to accept their feelings and to get along with one another in safe and nurturing surroundings. We have designed a theme-based curriculum to foster creativity through dramatic play, story time, process and project art, songs, rhythms, hands on science and math activities and balance of indoor and outdoor play. The children hear Bible stories reflecting themes of love, friendship, sharing and other positive values. We visit the sanctuary for a 20-minute whole preschool worship once a week. Children gain self-confidence as they grow cognitively and socially in a creative and caring environment.
