School Philosophy and Mission
"Hummingbird Montessori offers a delightful indoor/outdoor learning environment in a comfortable home atmosphere. Our culturally diverse Montessori curriculum incorporates a hands-on approach to teaching.
Children are drawn in by daily presentations during a group circle time. An hour-long work period encourages free exploration of materials allowing children to find activities to suit their inner needs.
Mixed ages (2 1/2 - 5 years old) work side by side or together engaging in activities from various areas such as Practical Life, Math, Language, Sensorial, Art, Science and Cultural Experiences.
We model conflict resolution and children gain the skills for dealing with conflict between themselves. "

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
