School Philosophy and Mission
"Andrea Berti and the team members at First Steps Preschool and Infant Care believe that parents are the most important adults in a child's life. In order to best serve your child's needs, we encourage open communication between parents, the owner, director and your child's teacher.
We believe in the uniqueness of individuals. Children are assigned to his or her classroom depending upon their age and development. We provide appropriate activities that enhance their personal growth, thinking skills and allow development of their natural curiosity and imagination. Children are encouraged to participate in self-directed and group play. We challenge them to solve problems and allow them to make mistakes. Through providing positive reinforcement, we assist children in gaining confidence, independence and respect for themselves and others. We provide them with skills in sharing, taking turns, socialization, and ways in which to adjust to life situations without anger and violence
