School Philosophy and Mission
"At Summit Christian Academy (SCA), we believe that education begins with the discovery of God's absolute truth; all other learning flows from this discovery. Without knowledge of God's sovereign plan for mankind, it is impossible to appreciate fully God's creation, order, attributes, and immutable laws. One achieves a fuller understanding of life's purpose when one learns at the feet of Jesus because “…in Him [Jesus] all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)
The academic and spiritual setting of SCA is one of discipleship-style learning. One can characterize this type of school as one providing quality Christian teaching to children of Christian families. A primary emphasis is to share the message of salvation with students who do not know Christ and to disciple all students to have a deeper walk with Christ.
Given the biblical principle that parents are accountable to God for the education of their children (Deuteronomy 6:7-9, Ephesians 6:4), SCA expects all parents to cooperate strongly with and participate actively in its educational programs and the overall development of their children. By being accountable, demonstrating their interest, and illustrating their willingness to support the school's programs, parents will enable their student to be better conditioned for learning.
Another objective of SCA is to provide a nurturing and safe environment where students are accepted and loved and where their value is recognized. SCA desires the complete development of each student - spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. Summit's goals are to challenge and motivate each student to realize his/her God-given potential and to establish a life-long love of learning.
Realizing that teachers and staff set the tone for a school, SCA will employ only those educators who can articulate their testimony of salvation through Jesus Christ eloquently and persuasively and who consistently demonstrate a Christian lifestyle. The teachers and staff will communicate spiritual absolutes based on the SCA Statement of Faith. The school strives to employ teachers who care personally about each student and who recognize each student's gifts and potential. Summit will challenge the teachers and staff to use their own gifts and talents and to model life-long learning by growing professionally and spiritually.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
