School Philosophy and Mission
"First Baptist School bases its philosophy of education on the Bible, the infallible, inerrant Word of God. God spoke the universe into existence, He watches over it today, and will one day bring all things to completion according to His will. At that time all creation will praise Him according to His original plan.
God created man in His image with infinite worth. Man willfully chose to disobey God and therefore comes under the penalty for sin, which is eternity in hell. Christ paid the penalty for man's sin and redeems those who place their faith in Him. The Holy Spirit calls all who place their faith in Him to be disciples and teaches the truth of Christ to all who will listen. These divine truths are given so man may understand God and act on His will. They are intended to reach into every corner of man's heart and reflect every facet of God's character as it is lived out in man's daily life.
Education is the presentation of God's truth and how its unchanging principles are applied to a changing world often hostile to him. The home is the institution God originally created to pass his truths from one generation to the next. The school is not a substitute for the home, but rather an extension of the home. The ultimate success or failure of the child's actions must still be laid at the feet of the parents and their instruction.
The school is not a substitute for the church, but rather works in support of and submission to the church. First Baptist School is one of the many ministries of First Baptist Church. While recognizing competent Bible scholars hold differing views, as a ministry of the First Baptist Church, the school does not subscribe to or permit the promotion of the speaking in tongues, the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a second work of grace, or other doctrines associated with the modern charismatic movement.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
