School Philosophy and Mission
"We maintain the Montessori philosophy and Montessori method of teaching and use traditional Montessori materials in our classrooms. However, we also incorporate the “traditional preschool method of teaching. Therefore, your child enjoys the benefits of “play, and theme based lessons, as well as, the structure and independence Montessori has to offer.
We believe in a “home learning environment. We have created a learning environment in a home setting. We feel that children will be forced into an institutional environment soon enough. We believe it is important that your child remain in a warm, comfortable, home like setting, especially in their younger years, so that they can develop a love for learning in a relaxed environment.
We believe the strength of our program is determined by the strength of our Teachers. We take special care in hiring and training our Teachers. Our Lead Teachers undergo intense training before caring for children. And, after our preliminary training, we continue to support them with ongoing training and resources so they are well prepared and equipped for their day.
We believe nutrition plays a big part in a child's development and learning ability. We prepare nutritious, hot, homemade meals daily. Our lunches include portions from all four-food groups; even our snacks are healthy and satisfying. At A Kid's World, your child will receive proper nutrition minus additives and preservatives.
We believe each family is as unique as the child that is being cared for. We are sensitive to the needs of our families and understand families need flexibility. We go out of our way to offer flexible childcare as well as payment arrangements. We want to build a relationship with you and your child. It is our promise that we will be here when you need us the most.
We believe parent involvement plays an important part in the success of the child. We give our parents a say as to what kind of care their child is receiving. We have an active Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) that meets regularly. Of course, you do not have to wait for a meeting to address a concern. The owner of A Kid's World makes her home phone number available so you can address a concern, or offer a suggestion, at your convenience.
We believe that strong leadership determines the rate of our success. A Kid's World is owned and operated by a degreed educator who is on site at least 40 hours a week. So, you can be sure that there is someone on premise who cares, is knowledgeable and trained to pay special attention to the daily activities that encourage every aspect of your child's development.

Being Savvy Today
Joy Through a Child's Eyes
It was a cold and soggy day at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo. Cold, that is, for March day here in Austin. Of all the sights to see, my son spent most of our visit at the petting zoo. He picked out his
