School Philosophy and Mission
Our child-centered program begins at eighteen months for toddlers and ends at sixth grade. Specific and appropriate learning objectives are established for each developmental stage, building on what came before and laying the foundations of what will come after. We strive to meet the many needs and interests of each child: cognitively, physically, emotionally, socially and aesthetically. Because we believe that the family and the school are partners in education, The Children’s School offers many opportunities for parent education.
Our teachers use an array of techniques, materials and activities to challenge our students. Through hands-on experiences abstract ideas become real, meaningful and useful to children. Our teachers model ethical behavior and nurture the development of your child’s character, creating a community where children know that the group is valued, the individual is respected and that each person has responsibilities to the community.
