"The mission of Brilliance Academy is to develop every child in the areas of communication, creativity, critical thinking, character, and confidence so that there is a formation of intellect and skill that will maximize their potential in our global and meritocratic society.

"Brilliance Preschool and Academy was established in January of 1996 to fill a need for a high quality preschool education. In a period of six years, Brilliance has added Kindergarten, and 1st ? 4th grades. "Brilliance Academy?s approach to education is a blend of the best practices identified by three educators: Jean Piaget, Maria Montessori, and Howard Gardner. In developing its methodology, Brilliance curriculum has taken into account the importance of a child?s early formative years, the cognitive phases of a child?s development, the benefits of learning through concrete experiences, and the evaluation of the eight intelligences as presented by Howard Gardner.

"Brilliance focuses on the process of learning and not just the product. Therefore, the work that the children do may not be perfect but it is what they have learned, the comprehension and the growth they go through in ?doing? is what is important.

"Brilliance uses the A Beka and The Core Knowledge curriculum to develop language, math, science, and social studies. Every year Brilliance reviews best practices in education and incorporates learnings that provide enhanced advantages to the students."

"Brilliance uses learning centers to provide the opportunity for each child to develop self-motivation and independence. There is a blend of child-directed and teacher-directed learning. The teacher introduces new concepts to the children during one-on-one sessions and then allows them to practice until the concept has been mastered. Scheduled group times such as circle time, lunch, recess, music, concert practice, etc., provide the children with opportunities to develop their social skills."
