School Philosophy and Mission
"Here at Rainbowland Nursery School, we are dedicated to our service. We teach our children with a warm and friendly heart, in a safe and happy environment.
When we speak of discipline, it does not mean being harsh or brazen; it's quite the opposite. To achieve disciplinary control with the children, both teacher and students must learn to respect one another.
If you, as a teacher or parent, want a child to listen to your directions and decisions, you must be willing to respect the child's needs to be heard when it is his or her turn to speak.
Overall, there must be constant communication between both teacher and student. If a problem arises between adult and child, or even another child, actions must be taken and things must be talked out. If a child continues to be active in a disturbing manner, the teacher will then set the active child aside from the others, calming him or her with a soothing voice, until the child is able to return to the other children.
In our school, we use positive reinforcement constantly to provide motivation for the children in a loving atmosphere. By understanding and respecting each other, the behavioral development in children will mature and reach a positive level.

Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
