School Philosophy and Mission

"Our philosophy at Penfield Village Nursery School and Kindergarten emphasizes social and emotional growth and our program is based on developmentally appropriate activities for three- and four-year-old children.
We guide children to build a positive self-concept, develop independence, learn to play cooperatively, and express their feelings. These traits help form the foundation for later cognitive learning. Children are accepted for their uniqueness and encouraged to accept others' individuality.
In order to reach these goals, we have a flexible, varied program. Music, stories, creative activities, games, active and quiet play, both indoors and out, are all regular parts of our day.
