School Philosophy and Mission
"The Montessori Early Learning Center is the first school in Bergen County
to offer a full day Montessori child care program for children under seven years
old. The school's staff and student enrollment reflect a wide range of ethnic and
cultural backgrounds, and prides itself in providing a day-to-day environment
wherein adults and children of all races can work and grow in an atmosphere of
peace, harmony and inner discipline. Of primary importance is the health and safety of our students. All staff members are qualified, trained, and mandated to care for the children in an exemplary manner at all times.
The child's intellectual, physical, and social development is nutured within a well planned curriculum. The child receives warmth and the best of care, as well as an age-appropriate educational component designed to foster:
Independence
Self Discipline
Acceptable behaivor, respect, and appropriate manners
Positive relations with family, friends, and staff
A love for learning
A positive self image

Being Savvy Today

Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
