School Philosophy and Mission
Founded more than 35 years ago, Church of the Redeemer Cooperative Nursery School offers a warm, nurturing, and happy learning environment for 3 and 4 year olds that prepares them for kindergarten. The school uses classrooms in the parish house of the historic Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill, but has no affiliation with the church.

Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
We have two classes, the Bumble Bee group for children 2.9 to 3.9 and the Explorers for children 3.9 to 5. Classes typically range from 7-14 children, with two teachers. In addition to the standard range of pre-school activities and art projects, we often have a weekly cooking project that the children participate in, and a visiting teacher for music and Spanish instruction. We frequently take advantage of the nearby MBTA Green line to make field trips to Brookline and Boston destinations. We are also a short walk from the trails and gardens of the 114-acre Hammond Pond Reservation, which we regularly visit for nature explorations.
