Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
Children enter the daycare and are greeted by the director. They sit and have breakfast together, as a group. It provides them with peer interaction, as well as establishing table manners. Circle time brings about discussions about typical topics such as weather, days of the week, colors, numbers, and shapes. It includes fingerplay songs, and a chance for each child to be heard.
Outside time is a large part of the day, where the children have the opportunity to "go back in time" and dig for worms, mix water into the sandbox, climb a tree, and have a race with their friend. A hot and home made lunch, and then a period of rest rounds out the afternoon. After nap, the children have free time, story time, centers, music, or art.
