School Philosophy and Mission
"We believe that children thrive in an environment that meets their needs; poses interesting challenges; responds creatively to their interests and ideas; and celebrates the unique contributions of each child to the group.
We provide the comfort and security of a home-like environment with the stimulation and enrichment of group interaction with peers and adults.
Children are provided with ample time to wonder, explore and play. Teachers observe and interact with children at play, understand and respond to children's nonverbal and verbal expressions and plan appropriate connecting experiences. The groups have a busy atmosphere, filled with exploration and discovery.
Children are encouraged to express their interests and abilities through play, language and artistic exploration. Additionally, there are opportunities to work in small groups and at quiet activities, as well as laps and cozy places available for comfort, relaxation and private time.
We encourage all members of the classroom community — children, parents, and teachers — to share their strengths and talents in an atmosphere of care and support.
We believe that a learning community is created when staff, parents and children's diverse ideas, opinions and abilities are expressed, welcomed and respected.
From daily life in the classroom to center-wide events, we provide meaningful opportunities for family involvement.
We work to facilitate connections between all adults and children in our programs. We believe in working together, as a community to effectively guide children’s growth and learning."
