"Treasured Minds Montessori Preschool's philosophy is modeled using the curriculum developed by Maria Montessori. This method teaches that children learn through play. Montessori believed that children have a right to develop to their fullest potential and that the school exists to implement that right. Children are drawn towards "work" that interests them and through that work develop skills necessary for further education. When they have taken what they need from this work, they gravitate to the next learning level. The teacher's job is to have educational materials available and observe the children, interacting when assistance may be necessary. This hands-on approach is the most beneficial for learning during the early educational years. Respect is always stressed in the Montessori classroom, for the children, for the teachers, as well as for the materials."
