School Philosophy and Mission
"ECNS aims to support area families by providing an affordable, high-quality preschool experience - one that promotes children's emotional, intellectual, and social growth in a joyful, nurturing atmosphere. Children in our classes are encouraged to explore materials, make friends, and to have fun.
As co-op members, parents get to share the wonder and discovery of their child's first school days. ECNS strives to strengthen families and provide a positive introduction to school. Being a co-op, ECNS aspires to build a community by nurturing friendships among member families. Working together to run the school provides parents and children with the opportunity to develop supportive, caring relationships that benefit both families and our neighborhood.
the philosophy being that play is a child's work. Children are encouraged to explore and to develop in an atmosphere of acceptance, trust and love.
As a cooperative nursery school, children and their parents have the opportunity to share the wonder and excitement of the first school experience. Further, by assisting the teachers regularly in the classroom, parents gain a better understanding of their own children and of their preschool age children. Therefore, as it has from the beginning, ECNS continues to help families learn and grow together.
