School Philosophy and Mission
MISSION Friends Childcare Brookline has resulted from suggestions by many happy parents at the Roslindale/JP Center for providing the Friends quality childcare in other areas around Boston. Brookline, a child friendly town with large number of professional families has faced a vacuum in high quality childcare like Friends. Finally the town will find its needs served at Friends brand new second facility. With the opening of Friends Childcare Brookline, our wish is to enhance the number of children and families who benefit from receiving Friends premier quality programs. Our Mission is to create an early childhood program that fulfills the emotional, cognitive and physical needs of what is known to be the most significant period of human development. Further, we strive to create a collaborative effort between parents, faculty and management in order to develop a strong sense of community at Friends Childcare. Our Philosophy 1. Children learn by observing and interacting with adults and other children. We believe in offering loving and supportive interactions in order to promote a permanent positive life experience. 2. Children need to be able to display and express their feelings of wonder for the natural environment. We strive to create a safe and nourishing space that offers many opportunities for them to explore and discover. 3. Children have different learning styles and benefit from exposure to variety of age appropriate activities at the earliest stages of development. We design and implement a wide range of pedagogy-based activities, which promote cognitive development according to individual characteristics. 4. Children can achieve much more than is usually expected of them. We believe that raising expectations and providing challenging learning opportunities in a loving atmosphere is an excellent motivator. Ref: http://www.friendschildcare.net/pages/5/index.htm
