Everyone is asked to write a short essay and I think they are looking to see that you understand the commitments of a co-op and that you will be comfortable working with children and really contributing.

My child is "sort of" a legacy as her older half sister attended Sequoia; I also spent a good deal of time on my essay (and was very passionate) about why I wanted my daughter to attend the school.
