Advice from Parents to Prospective Parents on Admissions

We were persistent and flexible. My son was on the waiting list, but quite far down. Checking in regularly with Leslie, demonstrating that we were very flexible on dates and start times, and just being nice and community-minded seemed to make a big difference. Eureka was our top choice, even having seen other preschools; this was where we really wanted our son to go.

The director is very welcoming of calls, although it can be tricky to reach her. Because the school is so small, she does not offer a tour unless she knows she has a spot for your child, which is hard to accept for the parent. Knowing the school as I do now, I understand this policy. During the admissions process I checked in with the director regularly and asked her when and where (the school has two sites and two phone numbers) I should call her again. I marked this in my calendar and called faithfully. A space opened up late in the year, and it was offered to my child.
