Director's Comments
We have a curriculum meeting, and two parent conferences per year. Additionally, we have a parent-of-the-day program allowing parents to spend one session a month in the classroom with their child. We give out a monthly curriculum letter to the parents so they are informed of what we are doing each month.
Separation
| OVERALL RATING (5.0) |
Beginning of the year separation is handled through:
- Abbreviated schedule at start of school year
- Parents in classroom early on
- Small group sessions
- Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
- Home visits by teachers

Director's Comments
We have a phase-in program which includes a home visit, meeting in small group for a short time and building gradually to full time-full group. Parents or caregivers are welcome to stay in the room as long as necessary for their individual child.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
This school is a small gem within the cutthroat world of Manhattan preschools. There are 3 teachers in the classroom with 15 kids maximum. The year my son attended there were 13 kids in the class. It's a little school that is very nurturing and lovely. In my mind it is the perfect introduction to 'school' for a small child.

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Parents can sign up and be a Parent of the day every month in the child's class room. It's a wonderful opportunity to play an active role in the classroom.
Parent #2
It's a very nice, close-knit community comprised of mostly parents who reside in Waterside Plaza yet they are very open to other parent involvement....

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
