Director's Comments
We begin the year with an orientation, where the teachers present the goals of the class. Many materials are handed out to support the parents as they begin the school year.
Teachers provide a monthly classroom newsletters that informs the parents of the weekly units of study. There is also a schoolwide newsletter that keeps parents up to date on whole school activities. There is an age appropriate evaluation of each child yearly, followed by a parent teacher conference. Additional conferences with the teachers or director are scheduled on an as need basis. The director provides connections to special services as needed.

Director's Comments
School begins with an orientation that is attended by both parent and child. Children meet their teacher as well as other classmates, and become familiar with the classroom. Parents are encouraged to drop their child off at the door on the first day of school and staff will direct them to their room. If there is an issue with separation the teacher spends extra time bonding with child while additional staff are in the classroom. Parents are encouraged to call the school to see how the child is doing. Some children require additional assistance and strategies such as transitional objects are employed. Most children bond with their teachers within the first few days of school.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Clement has a program called Lunch Pack where the children may bring a lunch and stay an additional couple hours for a fee. It allows parents to get a few extra errands done and the children get to play at school longer. Clement has many class programs for the parents to attend that feature the kids singing and displaying art projects. Afterwards, juice and cookies are shared. Clement has 'sing a long' every week for 15 minutes where the whole school comes together and sings songs. The leader rotates among the teachers and they are accompanied by the piano. Children are randomly selected to go to the front of the group and perform during the songs and most songs incorporate some sort of movements. Parents are encouraged to come and join in.
Parent #2
The school is very welcoming to parents. They do however encourage you to not 'hang around' the first few weeks while the teachers are trying to establish routines with the children.

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
