Depends on the parent, child, and situation. First day is half day. After that it is an individualized thing for each child.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
This is a Parent-run cooperative, so the parents are in charge of providing a lot of the information, like pre-K's and Kindergartens.
Parent #2
My son had a difficult time separating, and Chickpeas was wonderful in this regard; I never felt pressured to leave, and I was able to visit as often as I wanted.
Parent #3
Chickpeas is a parent cooperative preschool with parents handling all administrative functions. The only paid staff are the teachers. It is a small school with 19 students from 2.5 years to 5 years and three teachers. Because of this arrangement, the parents' relationship with the teachers and each other is very close. Most importantly, the size of the school and the interaction between parents and teachers creates an incredibly warm, nurturing, safe and stimulating environment for the children. There is a mandatory monthly meeting for the parents (only one parent or caregiver need attend) to take care of school business which gives all the parents an opportunity to meet and get to know each other. This makes play dates comfortable as parents know the families of their children's playmates.
