Director's Comments

The parents recieve a daily note about their child's activities. In September, we have a meeting with the parents about the goals set for the year.It is a time parents may ask questions about specific teaching goals, how to participate in the school, discipline policies, etc. We also celebrate other cultural customs from various countries represented in the school to help overcome bias.Parent teacher conferences are held annually, or more often if teacher/parent feels the need. Comments made by parents of past students usually report a very good transition into kindergarten.

Director's Comments

Parents are asked to visit with their child for an hour a day one or two weeks before entering the school. We ask for transitonal objects such as stuffed animals or blankets, etc. A picture of the family is also welcomed. We use picture time lines for children when necessary to help them adjust to daily routines and activites. Children are held when the parent leaves and soothed. Teachers help direct children to activites that will help ease the transition.
