Home-School Connection
Director's Comments
We encourage parent participation, parent-teacher conferences. We send out periodical letters just letting parents know what we'll be doing in the next few months, any concerns, new announcements. We send home books for our beginning readers to read with their parents. We have 2-3 family nights, ie "North America Night" where the children shared their knowledge of the continents and North America followed by a chili dinner, The solar system presentation followed by an ice cream social, and our summer production where the children make all the sets, learn songs and dances and present it to all our families - this year is Enchantment under the Sea - they made starfish, paper plate fish, octopuses, surf boards and sang Surfin USA, Wipe Out, and other sea related songs with a "did you know" presentation of facts about fish, the ocean etc. This was followed by a weinie roast, serving hot dogs, chips and root beer floats. All these programs are open for families and guests. We enjoy our families getting to know each other.
Separation
Beginning of the year separation is handled through:
- Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
