Director's Comments
Communication between school and home is most important. I have realized over the years that the Owner, not a school's "director" which is really a label, is the most valuable administrator within a school family.
The owner/founder etc. is the glue to keeping families happy and comfortable. When visiting a school ask yourself, Who owns this school? A
franchise? A Corporation etc?
Cornerstone Preschool holds two parent teacher conferences per year and when necessary will schedule other conferences. Telephone communication between family and home is important as well. We also have a Parent's Association which allows for parents to participate in their child's education here at the school. A Room Parent Program, Community Programs and school events are all a part of us building a sense of Community within our school.
Separation
Beginning of the year separation is handled through:
- Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Director's Comments
We want the transition from home to school to be a healthy one. Each child is unique and therefore each seperation is unique. NEVER does a child sit and cry. We may call the parents back so that the transition time is less and less. We may ask a parent to wait a few minutes before heading out after drop off. We encourage our families to call us during the day to check in when morning drop off poses challenges for them or their little ones.
Drop-in Policy
- During school parents are welcomed as the school has an open door policy

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
