Director's Comments
Parents drop off and pick up their children, so there are frequent opportunities for informal teacher-parent and parent-parent interaction. Regular conferences are scheduled with every parent each semester. Newsletters are sent home every month, and teachers and parents communincate by phone and email.
Separation
| OVERALL RATING (3.9) |
Beginning of the year separation is handled through:

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The best part of the Burley pre-school classroom is the teachers. They are warm, friendly, enthusiastic and very caring with my son.
Parent #2
I don't feel our preschool looks deeply at each child and what their individual skills or needs are. My daughter often complains of being bored in school---and the activities don't vary.
Parent #3
I did not complete the end of the year questions as we have not yet completed our first year and I am unsure as to what happens at the end of the year. It's also hard for me to evaluate the separation process as this was not a big challenge for my child...but, it is helpful that parents are always welcome in the morning to stay as little or as long as they like. Also, the staff (teacher and 2 assistants) are very loving and freely dole out hugs as needed.

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
