Children receive a letter from their teachers over the summer with a photo. Children are encouraged to 'visit' over the summer and have an 'orientation' day with less children. Parents are welcome to stagger drop-off time and stay a bit the first few days. We encourage parents to develop a morning drop-off 'ritual.' We call parents with a check in during the first week of school.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
During the first two to three weeks of school, the teachers call the parent to let them know how their child is doing. It's so nice and really puts my mind at ease. They are very kind, compassionate, and loving teachers who've been teaching at the school for years. They are TERRIFIC!
Parent #2
TSP, allied with Temple Sinai, is a good way for newcomers to the temple to feel at-home. Temple staff visit classrooms weekly, and there's an interweaving of Jewish ritual. Preschool Shabbat is especially sweet, with all children (even family members dropping by) welcomed by name. Although a 'developmental' preschool, more could be done to encourage learning. Parents are vocal, and if they feel there's a void they often step in -- one mother spent every Monday in a literacy project.
Parent #3
Temple Sinai Preschool fosters a close-knit community and relationships that last for decades. Weekly baking of challah, school-wide shabbat services and holiday celebrations create a festive environment in which children feel nurtured and loved. Most of my children's classmates were accepted into the private schools of their choice and are now thriving in kindergartens across the area. We cherished our time at Temple Sinai Preschool and encourage parents to investigate the program!
Parent #4
This was a warm, friendly, play-bases program. The children were nurtured, encouraged and provided many opportunities to grow, learn and explore. The teaching staff was outstanding. We enjoyed the parent body and all community events.

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
