Home-School Connection
Director's Comments
We send home Friday folders each week which contain student work and notes from the teachers. We also send home observation reports and our weekly teaching plan with themes and highlights. We hold two family nights per year where parents come to work with their children and the children give demonstrations. We have held non-violent communciation classes for our families. Lastly, we do conferences with parents in the fall and in the spring.
Separation
Beginning of the year separation is handled through:
- Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
- Small group sessions
- Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
- Parents in classroom early on
- Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Director's Comments
There is a parent orientation evening held in the fall to discuss the procedures we use at the school. Some of the children have strong needs for reassurance that their parents will return.
