Parent Orientation gives parents full information about our procedures and policies. Children visit the classrooms and meet their teachers with parents before school begins (Classroom Visitation). Most children transition easily into our program. Parents are welcome to stay at school at the coffee bar with other parents to check on their child. We have only one-way windows from which they may view their child in the classroom. Parents are told to always say good-bye and reassure the child that they will return.

The Creative School does an excellent job with 'structured play,' so that my son has never realized that he is actually learning. He considers 'school' nothing but a positive, fun place to be, and has learned how to get along with others and grow in confidence at the same time. Pam Douce, the school's director, sets the ideal tone, and ensures that the atmosphere of the school is stimulating and nurturing.

I have found parents at the school are very interested in getting to know the other parents. Everyone - parents, staff, teachers are very welcoming and as a new family to the school makes you feel right at home. The class sizes are small and the kids really get to know each other and their teachers. The teachers are very hands on, and while the school is play-based there are developmental goals/milestones that are encouraged. Your child is reviewed (formally) twice a year (beginning and end) in a parent-teacher conference to show progress and encourage areas of need. My child began in the early 2's program and greatly benefited from the social development as well as the classroom stimulation that the teacher activities provided.

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
