Parents' Comments
Parent #1
It is my son's first year. We have not had an end of year assessment, if one were to occur.
Parent #2
Happyland supposedly has a 10 minute rule when it comes to separation but the times my children have had a hard time with me leaving, they've encouraged me to sit and have lunch with them or stay during story time, etc.
Parent #3
My daughter started school in January. I think there are some welcoming activities and 'open houses, ' but we were not apart of them until her second year. They could definitely do a better job of welcoming kids mid-year. Teacher conferences could be more frequent with more 'listening' instead of talking.

Re: Kindergarten. Upon request, we received a detailed list of Kindergartens that Happyland feeds into. A meeting about Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for next month, so don't yet have the entire picture. Re: Handling of start of preschool separation: parent(s) visit teacher and class for 1 hour before school starts. On first school-day, parents are encouraged to stay no longer than 10 minutes.

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Are invited to do activities with the children. For example, we're invited to read to them in the morning or afternoon, come into the classroom to teach them to cook or to talk to them about what we do for a living.
Parent #2
Play music, read stories.
Parent #3
Organizes in school events.
Parent #4
There are certain committees that parents sign up for, but I am not sure what they are exactly. I signed up for a committee in September but have never been contacted about any activity.

A Great Book Rhymes!
Kids are a funny bunch. They are often loath to change and anything new. But still, our little ones are open to so much -- and so much more than we more ossified parents are! Think of poetry: preschoolers happily read and repeat poems with ease and
