Home-School Connection

Director's Comments

Our goal is to keep open communication with our staff and our parents. We work on goals that parents have written down for their child. At our Back to School night parents are able to learn more about our classroom and about their child's teachers. During the year we have parent education classes that we offer. Everyday we endeavor to speak with each parent and make ourself available should they need to speak with us in more detail.

Separation

Beginning of the year separation is handled through:

- Home visits by teachers

- Small group sessions

- Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Director's Comments

A firm hug and a gentle kiss from the parent lets the child know that they will return. As the parents are more comfortable about the choice they made for their child, the child naturally becomes more comfortable. Throughout the day we make sure that we have plenty of staff should a need arise for extra encouragement from a caretaker.
