Director's Comments

Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?

Parents should please visit the Association Montessori International web site www.montessori-ami.org for further information. Our school is designed to introduce high quality Montessori as an early childhood education alternative for San Francisco families. Up until now, the only Montessori primary education available in San Francisco has been offered by private institutions. We are dedicated to preserving the same level of excellence but offering all children access to it.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
Teachers are very attentive to the students and really know their individual personalities. They form close relationships with the students, and really care about them. I'm often surprised at the level of detail that they can tell me about what my child experienced that day.

Parent #2
We needed to request greater teacher communication, which they were willing to give. In addition, because it's a public school, they have a school counselor who is on site once per week and she's given us advice and support.

Parent #3
The first thing that made the transition easy for my son was that I was contacted by school personnel (ie. teacher, administrator or secretary) whenever it was a problem. This is the first public preschool Montessori program and it has only been operating for 15 months. The monthly parent education classes have been very helpful. The Montessori parents have started a web bulletin board where we can post messages.
