Parents' Comments
Parent #1
I love everything about it! I just finished observing my child in class, and I am tickled with all that she is learning. I was so impressed by how busy all the children kept themselves and how calm the class was. I also was really pleased to see how well the teacher interacted with the children and how she spoke quietly and stayed joyful all day.

Both of my daughters have excelled. My daughter who attended Far Horizons for 3 years has transitioned to public school because we relocated out of Georgia. She still talks about missing her teachers and friends at Far Horizons. She has tested into the gifted program for 4th, 5th and 6th grade. The Director of the school is very passionate about her work with the children. She believes in taking them as far as they can go. She challenges them on any level. The children respond very well to her and have a lot of respect for her. Academically, the performance of the majority of the students is exceptional. They are all working at least one or two grades ahead of their expected performance for their age level. Some minor draw backs, there is no PTO of sort but she maintains an open door policy. She could also use an administrator to handle those types of matters. It is a small school which has its advantages and disadvantages.

I felt that the teacher(s) there were very cold and unfriendly toward me AND my child. They discouraged me from even asking for feedback, reporting to me only their dissatisfaction with my child. This was absolutely the MOST high-handed, cold, arrogant school administration I've ever encountered--completely out of bounds for a podunk like Albany.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
