Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
I believe that God has truly blessed me with the opportunity to work with children and families at Good Samaritan Preschool. I have been working in the preschool world for over nine years and have loved every minute. I enjoy watching children develop during the early years, they seem to discover new things everyday. I have twin boys that are the love of my life. As I look at them I see so much possibility. They are currently under the great care of the infant teacher at Good Samaritan. I feel so comfortable having them here, I know that when I am not there to care for them, they have a teacher that will lovingly give them the attention they deserve. My goal is provide a home away from home for the children we serve.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The teachers there are loving and caring to the children. I have been a parent at this school for two years. My child was in the infant program I loved the teachers taking care of my child. The teachers are informative and kept me up to date.
Now my child is in the preschool portion of the school and she gets to play on the a newly and improved playground. She is able to ride bikes and is loving her teachers and friends. I would recommend this school to others.
The school is improving their infant and two's playground. The yards look great and the kids
Parent #2
The biggest weaknesses are the lack of communication between the teachers and the parents. Teacher absences are unannounced, and sometimes we don't know who will be in the classroom with our child on some days. The school was without a director for several months, and things became disorganized. A new director has been in place for a month or two, but there is still a disorganized feel to the place. For example, a teacher will go on break before making certain a sub is available, so the child:techer ratio is exceeded. Child's specific dietary needs are not known by all teachers, so when a sub is in place, the child receives food they are not supposed to have. There is no central place that teachers check for diet restrictions. That goes back to the lack of communication issue.

Being Savvy Today
My Year of Giving Thanks
A year is such a strange thing. It's hard to define, other than to say that it's (generally) 365 days long, or to assign some notion of time to it. Yet, the truth is, so much happens in a year that all those events and experiences seem enough for
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
