This is a wonderful and unique small school with lots of parent involvement and great teachers. Our daughter loves it! Children are challenged and encouraged to pursue their own interests. Teachers are highly skilled at helping children resolve conflicts peacefully and respectfully.

The school experienced a major walk-out of teachers (and the director!) nearly a year ago and many parents left as well. I think this speaks to some fundamental issues with this school, which is small and seems to experience ongoing growing pains. I feel like the methodology of Montessori was never, ever communicated well to parents and we got little feedback about our son's progress and how to incorporate Montessori in our school. Occasionally the school would hold workshops, but these were often held at inconvenient times for working families.

OKK does not have separate rooms for music, art, etc, but rather is an integral way the children relating to their world. Consequently, the arts are part of the learning process.
