Parents' Comments
Parent #1
I have learned so much during my hours in the preschool classroom (2-4 parent hours/week are required at this preschool). I've learned more from the way the teachers and other parents care for and talk with the kids, than from any parenting book.
This preschool deals with conflict better than any preschool I have visited and also has the most experienced and dedicated teachers. All the teachers are pursuing or have degrees in early childhood education and do ongoing training and education. I visited 7 centers in the Seattle are in my search for childcare and this was the only one that has a child as another 'Are you ok?' to the child they hit/bit/pulled/etc so they can learn empathy and the child that was hit/bit/etc can reconcile peacefully. The children respond very well and often ask each other 'Are you ok?' without teacher/parents asking them.
This school is also very careful and the parents are thoughtful about keeping sick kids home and separating sick kids at school until a parent can pick them up.
