With my children I have learnt that sometimes it is very difficult to rate a childcare center as it depends on many factor - how you "click" with the director, owner, teachers and other support staff in addition to how the child also reacts with the environment and the teacher etc. My child started in the infant room and he is still in the school. He is very happy and learning a lot. I tend to disagree with the statement that the school does not have enough toys. They keep their toys in the closet so that the infants who are just learning to stand up and walk, do not get hurt. I was told by the teacher that a couple of parents were not happy as they want to have a lot of toys. I do not want to send my child somewhere, where there are a lot of toys and no human child interaction. As of turnover, I have not seen any center where there is no turnover at all. Be realistic and look for continuity in your child's progress. Is that happening. Is the center clean, is the child safe?
Also, if this school does not represent Goddard's reputation, how can they be graded way above average by Goddard? What I believe is happening is that a couple of parents are not happy for whatever their reason and just want to spread false information. I believe they may not be happy where ever they go if they always look for excuses to blame others.

Child care is not something that should be taken lightly. When placing your child in a center, you want your child to have access to all of the proper learning materials. Goddard in Bear is SUBSTANDARD!!!! It seems as if the school barely invested in the proper educational toys, the only art work was always on construction paper with little or no thought behind it. They have high staff turnover, I could go on and on. Beware for the money that you pay to go to this particular school, I would think twice before I would put my child in this school. Take it from a former parent of a Goddard school child. My child did not stay long before I pulled her out.

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
