Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
I always tell all parents to take their time and look at all the different programs that are available in their community. At Wooly Mammoth, childhood is cherished in and of itself and children learn to live first and foremost like children, not as future adults.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The strength of this school is that it is both an infant care and preschool. In the infant room there is loving care as well as tender teaching (there is even circle time with the littlest babies!!). The little ones graduate to the preschool already comfortable with the place and having dear friends. There is loving affection in the preschool room, but respect, caring for one another and using your words were also taught. I believe these teachings helped my children to be social beings as well as academically ready for kindergarten. I also never felt sad about leaving there, knowing they were happy and learning every day.
Parent #2
The only thing I would wish for this preschool would be bigger classrooms, or more classroom space, with everything else I couldn't be happier.
Parent #3
Both of our sons have developed great friendships from other kids' attending Wooly Mammoth. The teachers engage the children from the very beginning of class to the end. Often at pick-up time they would like to stay and continue playing, happy to show you their days' work. Very professional organization and a warm, loving and caring environment.
Being Savvy Today
Kids Around the World
It's well known that if you want to get your preschoolers interested in something, the best way is to show them that other kids are involved. This rule holds for almost everything, even geography! Think about it this way: if you were to take your kids on a
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
