Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
We provide an open and caring environment and hope your child will find it fun and rewarding here.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
On the whole, we have been very happy with our experience at Bernice & Joe Play School. The teachers there realy bond with the chideren & care about them. The parent group works well together with different parents taking turns to run all of the activites. The one weakness I have found was that as my son older, the curriculum did not change that much for him. I think it would be a wise move for the school to add some more "advanced" course work for the 4-5 year olds
Parent #2
At first glance, Bernice and Joe Playschool may seem a little 'funky' which may be a turnoff to some parents. It almost was for us, but we gave it a chance and soon we realized what an amazing place it is! What it lacks in structure and polish, it more than makes up for in love and nurturing...and honestly, it is a more structured environment than it first appears. The directors have been running the school for over 25 years. They are both well educated, highly experienced, and most importantly caring people. You feel like you can talk to them (and any other teacher) anytime about anything. The environment is very down to earth and friendly, and the parents are all very much involved in the school--from planning activities to painting the walkway and trimming the trees. It's a great community, and I would highly recommend Bernice and Joe Playschool to any parent.

Being Savvy Today
The Wild Tangle of Grasses
If there was a single photo that could capture my feelings and thoughts about the past year, this would be it. It reminds me to keep looking toward the brightness of the light, even if I am caught in the wild tangle of grasses. This shot reminds me that
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
