Director's Comments

Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?

We are so proud of our Day School. Our children thrive and learn every day. They make friends, build confidence and leave our school prepared and excited about elementary school.

Our teachers are dedicated professionals committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment for their students. They are well educated and seek continuing education opportunities that keep them up to date and prepared.

Regarding the amount of religious programming within our school, we are a Christian preschool and therefore do promote and teach Christian values, we do not have a formal religious component to our program.

Aldersgate Day School has been teaching children for almost 50 years. We invite you to come take a look around and ask any questions you may have regarding our programs, teachers, and policies.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
There is almost no communication between the teachers and parents or the administration and parents. We've been told that we would be notified if there were any problems with our child. They share very little about what our child does while at school. They offer one parent/teacher conference in February or March. While our child loves going to school, we aren't sure we will choose this school again next year.

Parent #2
This school is amazing! I have sent all four of my children to Aldersgate. The director and staff are the epitome of professional and nurturing. Since the fall of 2001, I have had at least two children at Aldersgate, and in that time I have seen very little turnover in the staff. Their dedication and chameraderie coupled with their love of the children never ceases to amaze me. This is a very happy school which definitely prepares children for the acaemic rigors of elementary school. I cannot say enough positive things about Aldersgate.

Parent #3
The teachers are fabulous! We love this school. Having my children in a loving, safe atmosphere is important - and Aldersgate provides that. They also provide a "lunch bunch" option for days I know I might be running late for pick up.

Parent #4
School is nonresponsive to parent concerns.

Children with separation anxiety are ignored until they decide to "join the program." Children are left crying.

Parents are not allowed to set foot in the classroom. Parents are not allowed to speak with teachers at drop off or pick up, so there is very little communication about your child's day.
