Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Teachers have communicated well and handled all issues quite well. The director knows many of the kids by name...and knows a lot of the parents as well.
Parent #2
I have been very satisfied with Friends in Christ Preschool. Both of my boys enjoy it and I have recommended it to several other moms.
Parent #3
The school has made a significant difference in my 4 year old. He loves going to school and is learning new skills daily. I have not seen my child this happy in any other preschool. The teachers make them feel secure and loved.
Parent #4
I believe this is a great school to introduce children to a more structured school-like environment for the first time. If a parent is looking for strong educational emphasis, this is not the program for them. My child has thoroughly enjoyed her time here so far, and the school has provided what I needed for her first year of pre-school: introduction to a fun school environmentthat allows her to learn a little but have a good time.
Parent #5
I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS PRESCHOOL...I THINK THE COMBINATION OF PRICE, STAFF, AND CURRICULUM MAKE THIS A GREAT SCHOOL......THEY ONLY USE POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT FOR DISCIPLINE
Parent #6
I am impressed with the disciplinary system the teacher had in place. She moves their clip from green to yellow and then to red if they misbehave. It works well for my daughter who is determined to be good and stay on green.
Parent #7
This school is a great environment for every child and it's more like a whole family than different people; the learning is great and the staff is great
Parent #8
I made an error on the application and that caused my daughter to be inappropriately placed. I caught the mistake during parent orientation and the director quickly fixed the problem. She could have said 'too full, too bad', but they left room for adjustments in placement which is very important and appreciated.
Parent #9
The incredibly low student teacher ratio is one of the major strengths of this program. The teachers are patient, caring & loving, which is extremely important in preschool. Teachers help children to resolve conflict on their own with guidance and discipline is primarily redirecting and time-out when necessary.
Parent #10
This school encourages basic social and academic learning.
Parent #11
Communication through email.
Parent #12
I think some of the classrooms are too hot. I also think they should not make the Pre K kids take a nap for more than 20 minutes. I think teachers stretch it to one hour. Also parents are expected to volunteer for nap time. I feel the school charges enough tuition to hire more staff. Both of my children's classes have one teacher. I feel they need two.
Parent #13
I believe the strengths of this preschool are its tradition in the community, which allows for its good reputationand quality of staff and students. There is a defined curriuclum for each level of preschool-even the 1 year olds. Each class is, therefore, on the same page and doing the same thing. It does not allow a lot of room for teacher individuality, which can be both good and bad. It is a very traditional learing environment. The children do take Spanish, Music, Chapel, and Movement. The teachers and staff are very caring. The teacher provides daily updates on things learned at school: if the children rested, how much they ate of their lunch, and any behavior problems that they might have encountered.

Being Savvy Today
Joy Through a Child's Eyes
It was a cold and soggy day at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo. Cold, that is, for March day here in Austin. Of all the sights to see, my son spent most of our visit at the petting zoo. He picked out his

Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
