Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
Apple Blossom Nursery School offers a beautiful and peaceful home setting in southeast Portland, Oregon. We balance our program with activities that support your growing childā??s gross & fine motor development, with plenty of time to explore their ever-expanding world. We spend much of our time outdoors in all weather & use Mother Nature as our inspiration for our curriculum. We sing every day & do arts & crafts each day. We also cook with our children & bake bread.
Each day we tend to our bunnies, garden, chickens & kitties!
Here at Apple Blossom Nursery School, your child is surrounded with environmentally stimulating and enriching activities balanced with nutritional foods and a sense of community.
We serve 4 organic meals a day & have a dietitian on staff.
ABNS is inspired by Waldorf education and specializes in working with children 3 to 5 years of age. Carrie Riley, director, founder & lead teacher of Apple Blossom Nursery School, is a state- and Waldorf- certified teacher with over twenty years experience in child care and 16 years as a lead teacher. She is also state registered.
Apple Blossom is an ECO certified school & daycare.
All teachers take yearly continuing education courses to keep up to date on child development knowledge. We far exceed the state mandated 15 hours per year.
Please email me to schedule a tour to see our magical space.
~ Miss Carrie

The in home care my child gets is better than the center he used to go to, the teachers seem to really are & he thrives on the one on one the teachers give him when needed

Joy Through a Child's Eyes
It was a cold and soggy day at the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo. Cold, that is, for March day here in Austin. Of all the sights to see, my son spent most of our visit at the petting zoo. He picked out his
