Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
We are situated on a working farm and house several small animals which the children help to take care of. We spend a great deal of time outdoors exploring in all kinds of weather.
We follow an independent school calendar-with breaks at Christmas time, two weeks in March and most major holidays.
We close school for "Inclement Weather" whenever Brookline Public Schools close. However, if they delay, we open at regularly schedule time (8:15 AM).

I love everything about this little place and it is the happiest experience to be able to bring my children there. They love it! the understanding and appreciation of the outdoors learned at Apple Orchard is unlike any other preschool.
Parent #3
Apple Orchard believes that self confidence and social skills are the most important things a pre-schooler can learn. They provide a loving, nuturing environment in which the kids are encouraged to explore their world, make new friends, and to grow and have accomplishments all of their own.
Parent #4
Parent/teacher conferences could be richer. More concrete information should be given in the conferences.

Great program!

I think it would be helpful for the school to provide a host family for new pre-school families

Being Savvy Today
On My Own
We met up with my father for a weekend in Grayton Beach, Florida . It was too short as the girls don't see nearly enough of their grandparents, but we packed it full of fun. We spent our last day on the beach
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
