Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline

Calvary strives to provide a safe environment for children and to be a supportive network to families who are welcomed into the preschool. Our rules are based on safety for all children and teachers and respect to property. Every situation is different, and the teachers are encouraged to keep the needs of all the children in mind as problems arise. Reminding the children of rules, conflict resolution, positive redirection, and 'time with' a teacher will be used for occasional challenging behaviors. We discourage the use of time outs at Calvary unless it is determined to be necessary by the teacher because of repetitive behavior. Communication between home and school is encouraged.
