Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline

Discipline should be individualized and consistent for each child. It should be directed toward teaching the child acceptable behavior and self-control. We only use positive methods of discipline that encourage the child's self-esteem.

I have been part of this program for nearly 6 years. I have made adjustments to ensure all my children can attend. The discipline issues were handles in the classroom and discussed privately when necessary. I have had the occasion where my child was not feeling well in class and the teachers just cradled them until I was able to get there. The teachers have even been able to let me know when they felt my child was not feeling all that great and they were nearly always correct!

Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
