Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
This does not appear to be a discipline situation. This is learning about life and the rights of others to choose. This is an opportunity to teach a child about emotional health and independence.
Food Allergies
- children over the age of 18 months have all meals and snacks in our "cafeteria". Food is primarily egg, nut and other common allergen free.
Medications
- We keep their medication on hand at all times
- Each child is a unique situation.
