There was a child with autism that scared the heck out of my son by routinely hitting, scratching, biting, kicking and pinching him. When I brought this up to the teacher, her answer was always that it is the Montessori philosophy to have children from all different backgrounds and intellectual levels in the same classroom. I am all for mainstreaming children with special needs but when they are routinely *violent* to the other children, I think that behavior should be addressed. If it can't be corrected and it is affecting the academic achievement of the other students, I think the child should be asked to leave. The matter was never even addressed.

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
